MMM Father's Day

Good Morning and welcome to another Monday - now Monday's are not normally my favourite day of the week, but throughout June, they are a little more exciting that normal, as I get to be a guest DT member over at Make My Mondays http://mimchallegeblog.blogspot.co.uk/ and this week the challenge is simple and timely - make a father's day card ahead of this Sunday's day to celebrate all things fatherly....

I used one of my favourite masculine images from Elzybels - who can't relate to this beary image of a Dad "resting his eyes" half way through the papers following Sunday lunch?  I paper pieced the arm chair and then cut a bear from white smooth cardstock and used a pointalist colouring technique with copics to give some furry definition.  I pieced the newspaper on top and although it doesn't show too clearly it is creased and popped up with silicon for added dimension.  I mounted him in a double cut nestie circle on top of a embossed background.  The sentiment is from Stampin Up.
