Down on the farm

You've probably heard me mention how much I love paper-piecing as a technique - I love getting my sharp scissors out and even holding tiny bits of paper with tweezers to allow for all that fussy cutting - so naturally, I had to piece one of my There She Goes stamps this week to join in their paper piecing challenge http://tsgclearstamps.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/tsg206-paper-piecing.html

I selected the lovely farmer's wife from Oh Crop and decided to try and use the pretty colours from this week's ColourQ to direct my piecing choices.  http://colourq.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/colourq-challenge-188.html   For the layout I went with this week's Freshly Made Sketch  http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/freshly-made-sketches-85-sketch-by.html

I picked some papers that matched 3 of the colours and then stamped my sentiment in the paler pink colour.  I used a background from the same stamp set to add some interest behind the main focal element using the top line of it as my straight line on the sketch.  I left that as an outline - can't decide if I like it or not really but hey ho.
