So before I made the thank you (more on that below) I had a second go at the Challenge over at Less is More which this week is to make a masculine card, because whilst searching for an old foam stamp set, I turned up these cute little shirt and waistcoat die cuts that I had totally forgotten I had in my stash.
You just fold them along the pre-scored lines. No idea where I got them from - probably had them about 8 years now I think. I've added a couple of pearls for buttons on the waistcoat and used pen to make buttons on the shirt. The greeting is just Happy Birthday stamped in blue pearl on the coffee pearl card, which is turns out is absolutely impossible to photograph, with our without flash!!!
I then managed to get on with the task I'd entered the craft room for, to make a thank you card for our friends who generously paid for dinner despite our protestations. I made them a really simple card just with some strips of card cut with my EK success acanthus leaf punch, the aforementioned stamp from my foam set which was my first ever QVC craft purchase, again many, many moons ago, and an off cut from some my minds eye asparagus paper.
It's taken us a couple of years to actually organise this evening out, so I wanted to be sure it wasn't so long until we returned the favour, so I decided to make and include a little "gift voucher" to encourage them to come back to ours and let me cook for them (going out will always cause arguments over paying - this way I ensure I win!) The image is from Mo Manning and is called just cooking so is highly appropriate! The rest of the voucher is computer generated and I coloured the image with faber castell pencils and blending solution so the colour didn't show on the back of the voucher.
That's all from me today folks - off to eat my lunch now and then back to work.
Happy Crafting.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip about what coloring medium to use, I also think the type of the printer has a lot to do with it as well, I own an HP printer.
