Rev it up!

We're all about the boys here today - I made this bold guy card for my friends' husband who loves bikes with a new stampin up set I bought just for that purpose!

I coloured directly onto the stamp with my old Whispers Dual Tip Markers and then did the "huff" technique to make them wet enough to stamp.  I used the same markets to do a little shading on the tires and some of the chrome and fill in the black flash.  I used the red and black markers to ink up the sentiment and a black ink pad to do the tire pattern (and I was too lazy to get out my stamp-a-majig so I got gaps but I decided to live with it!)  I die cut using one of my favourite nesties - affectionately called the heinz label in our house ;-) and added a metallic red mat with the larger size.  I then embossed some grey cardstock with a spellbinders double folder if I remember correctly and added a strip of road washi tape across the middle before mounting onto a black base card.  The red and grey were from my overflowing scraps stash too so a tiny dent was made in that.....

So I'm going to enter this into a few challenges - firstly Pixie's Sunday Snippets as the majority of the card used was from my snippets draw http://pixiescraftyworkshop.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/pixies-crafty-snippets-playground-week_28.html

Also, The Pink Elephant are looking for Masculine cards this week and this certainly fits the bill http://thepinkelephantchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/the-pink-elephant-challenge-tpe210.html

Finally, there is a new challenge site which is all about cards for guys which I've started to follow after spotting it on my friend Deborah's site - I know lots of people hate making guy cards but I quite like it!  Their first challenge is anything goes so again, this fits the bill  http://themaleroomchallengeblog.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/challenge-1-anything-goes.html

  2. Brilliant card for a chap Tara! He's gonna love it for sure. Super image, I like the tread marks as they are, and altogether a perfect card!

I giggled about you using Whispers pens - they were the very first set of pens I bought, and I still turn to them - keep them on the desk here all the time. Some things we'll always love!
