Twenty One

I needed a special 21st Birthday card and the inspiration photo from Pinspired this week gave me an idea for a rainbow themed sparkly celebration that would be perfect for the recipient!

I cut the words twenty one out of a piece of thick white card on my silhouette cameo and placed it on my card base.  I lightly drew around the letters using the front panel as a stencil so I could see where they would be on the base card.  I then went to town with my sequin collection!  I covered the whole area of the the words with an even layer of pinflair gel which is my preferred glue for this technique as it holds the sequins and stays wet a decent length of time for "faffing"  I covered over each letter with a different colour of the rainbow just like the eye makeup and left it to dry.

I stamped one of the fabby Uptown Girls "Opal the Optimist" from Stamping Bella onto copic card and coloured here in before fussy cutting her out.  I stamped her matching sentiment directly onto the front panel and then glued Opal into place.   I used a thick layer of pinfalir gel around the edge of the panel to adhere it to the base so there was a little dimension to give the sequins room to shimmer!

Christmas

I haven't had much time for blogging these past couple of weeks so while I'm relaxing with a glass of bubbly I thought I'd quickly blog a few Christmas cards before the year is out.  These for the final 3 cards I made (on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day morning!) for my hubby, my Mum and Aunt.

The first one is one of my favourite Uptown Girls from Stamping Bella coloured with copics, a little (poor) inking around the image some DP and some words cut on my silhouette and stuck on.  I finished the girl with puffy foam and then decided to cut the shape and discovered that puffy foam squashes quite badly in your die cut machine!  On a good note, if you scrape it place again with a ball tool, it does re-puff a little......  The shoes got the same treatment but I coloured it with copics once puffed.

These two both feature super cute digi images from Wee stamps.  I picked the snow fairy for my Mum who loves birds.  I picked the other one for my Aunt as she looks after our cat when we go away.

Both were coloured with copics with more words cut on silhouette - finished with glossy accents and some Christmas bling.

The vintage traveller

November is a busy card making month for me, it seems that over half my friends have Birthdays this month (as do I tomorrow so perhaps there's some weird Scorpio synchronicity going on!) so I have a lot of cards to make.  I made a start with this weeks mojo Monday sketch as my inspiration for a friend who loves to travel.   http://mojomonday.blogspot.co.uk/2012/11/mojo-monday-266-contest.html

I used this just wonderful and oh so appropriate image from Stamping Bella's Uptown Girls range which if you come here often you'll know I just adore.  I tried to keep the colours of the cases very vintage to look like they'd had a lot of use and then paired them with some postcard and map papers with some vintage brown paper for the ribbon and a die cut craft shape.  I added a couple of Hero Arts sentiments to the postcard and the green banner and finished with a couple of die cut flowers with gem centres.

I just got two lovely packages of new stash delivered today so I may be back later with something else if I get time to play......
