Silhouettes

I'm playing with the challenge at Less is More today and they are looking for CAS cards with silhouettes.  I had a few ideas but couldn't find everything I was looking for but a dig through my old stash did stir up some unused stock so I've made 3 cards!  http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.co.uk/2016/01/week-260-recipe.html

I started with a set I think is by Craft Work cards but its from before I labelled things!  Simply stamped the cage on a tiny 3x3 card and stamped the silhouette bird inside it.  The sentiment is by Elzybells.

Then I found this old car - no idea who its by.  Did a little distress inking with some water splatters and stamped the car over top.  The sentiment is kaisercraft I think.

Finally I faked a silhouette using a Little Claire Christmas cats set and stamping it and colouring it in with a sharpie before cutting it out.  Did some more distress inking and trimmed a window frame with a craft knife (cos I did the inking first and my die was too small to cover it!)  Added a moon with picket fence dauber and some stickles for a glow.  The sentiment is Elzybells again.

 Thanks for visiting.

Big Guitar!

Working in IT is still a pretty masculine environment and the boys outnumber the girls almost 4 to 1 in our offices so I have the need to make quite a lot of guy cards which can sometimes be a problem.  But our birthday boy today is easy as he is hugely into music so any music themed card works for him.  I needed a quick card again so turned to my new best friend, yep you guessed it - the silhouette came out to play again!

The guitar image (from the cameo online store) is made up of a circle of blue with the black layers over the top to form the guitar shape.  The white panel is actually the blue cut out piece which I embossed with a layer of white and then a layer of pearl shimmer to give it that fender look!  Birthday was cut on the silhouette too and sized to fit.  Wishes is from a Waltzingmouse Christmas sentiment set - Winter Holiday  I like to mix straight fonts with something more curly in senitments as it adds more interest - particularly when they are large statement sentiments like these.

I am going to enter it into this weeks Here Come The Boys challenge which is "Boys and their toys"
